Lean Practitioner
ABOUT ME
I am a passionate lean practitioner with 18 years of experience. I got my start in the lean world at university studying Industrial Engineering. I put in my first pull system before I even knew the word Kanban.
I was lucky enough to spend a year working in Japan in a company that was working with Toyota. Over that year I took part in many one week kaizen events, and lead a 6 month event on a work cell were the target was to improve all measurable by 30% over the 6 months. When I came home to Canada I realized that I could not teach what I learned to my co-workers because in only new how to use lean in Japanese. So I started reading everything I could find on the topic.
Over the next few years I was introduced to many books, authors, and other lean practitioners. Some of my favorite stories of lean implementations come from my time at Canadian Blue Bird, were we produced School busses.
You will find my stories on the blog section of my web site, and you will find the training material that I use in the Training section.
